Big Smiles @ Big Man on Campus

There was no shortage of masculine smiles, talent, and wit this past Sunday at The University of Louisiana Lafayette (ULL).  Phi Mu Sorority, a National Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospital’s partner, hosted one of their biggest events of the year, Big Man on Campus.  Their hunky beauty and talent contest raised over a whopping $7000 for their local CMN Hospitals, CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital and CHRISTUS St. Patrick’s Hospital.

Philanthropy Chairwomen, Theresa Goldkamp, and her entire Phi Mu Chapter welcomed 13 fellow male students to a full fledged competition to win the crown and title of Big Man on Campus.

The contestant’s skills were vast and wildly entertaining.  While some demonstrated athletic prowess, others enacted powerfully moving monologues.  Some gentleman had the audience in stitches through stand up comedy routines.  There was never a dull moment.

The most moving part came during the interview portion.  Each of these 13 hunky gentleman explained why they should be the next Big Man on Campus.  It was powerfully moving to hear their passion and support for Children’s  Miracle Network Hospitals and their Phi Mu sisters.

It was hard to pick just one contestant as the talent was immense.  In the end, Greyson Higginbotham was the last man standing and was officially crowned Big Man on Campus.  Greyson was the complete package in terms of skills, wit, intellect, and passion for CMN Hospitals.

Kellie Freebeck and Cara Wyland, CMN Program Managers representing the two CHRISTUS Hospitals, left with smiles and funds for their local kids.  The impact is far reaching for local Louisiana kids as these monies will be used in a variety of children’s areas from acquiring life saving equipment, charitable care for all kids including the poor and undeserved, world class training and education for their children’s staff and cutting edge therapies that keep families from having to travel out of state for care.

Putting it all together in support of CMN Hospitals is Phi Mu Sorority at ULL.  Big smiles and big events equal big donations.  Big Man on Campus and Phi Mu Sorority at ULL achieved an outstanding level of giving.
